BBC Newcastle Tour

Why do some newsreaders only wear one shoe? Why does the weather forecaster have an earpiece in their left ear, while presenters have theirs in their right? In radio why do some programmes have a driver? And what is the RATS alarm?

The Pink Palace as the building is affectionately known is home to Look North and Sunday Politics and as well as the radio station BBC Newcastle. This is the hub of the BBC in the North East and Cumbria and with so many exciting dramas being made in the region - CBBCs hit shows The Dumping Ground and Wolfblood we have a massive amount to show off.

If after seeing all that you fancy having a go yourself then why not? To round up we have a whole host of interactive elements in our specially designed studio inviting you make your episode of Newsround and star in a radio programme, or if you prefer a behind the scenes role how about trying vision mixing or sound effects?

There is also a treat for Dumping Ground fans part of the set is here ready for you to dress with props. You can try on the characters costumes and see if you have got what it takes! The Childrens Interactive tour is designed for children aged 6-12 along with their family and friends.
